About This Course
A key challenge for any hospital is to ensure that patients at risk of critical illness receive appropriate and timely care. To ensure this occurs, it is incumbent on staff responding to MET calls to have advanced assessment skills and excellent crisis management, team work and communication skills.
The course content is very similar to that provided in the Recognizing & Responding to Clinical Deterioration Course that has been conducted over the past few yrs throughout the Hume region. This course pitches this information at a higher clinician level, using real case scenarios to explore differential diagnosis’ of potential causes for deterioration Who Should AttendThis course has been designed to enhance the professional development of nurses and medical staff working in acute clinical settings who are required to attend a MET call or assess a patient that has been reported to have breached important clinical parameters. Course Description: Hazardous Manual Handling refers to any activity requiring the use of force exerted by a person to lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move or restrain objects.
This course is required to be completed by those staff who perform Non-Clinical hazardous manual activities (i.e not related to the direct movement of patients)

GV Health has separated manual handling tasks into those tasks that involve moving patients (Clinical Manual Handling) and all other manual handling (Non-Clinical Manual Handling).
